The famed LA Gear Lights are returning by popular demand
In early 1992. we began marketing our first light up shoes. The revolutionary sneakers came with red LED lights in the heels, and when the heel hit the ground the light up technology would be activated, continuing with every step. We went further in 1993, launching the L.A. Tech line of performance athletic shoes. Advancing technology allowed the lights to be removed from the heel. Many imitators followed, but none matched the success of LA Lights and LA Tech.
Since LA Gear Originals launched an updated Unstoppable line in December 2008, fans everywhere have asked about the light up shoes.
Men love the new Unstoppable line: the KAJ, MVP, and Star Shooter High are among our most popular styles. Women love the Flame High, and the limited edition Stardust made waves this past spring. But EVERYONE loves the LA Lights, and come December 2009, they are back.
The mens light ups will come in Green or Olive/Yellow, Black, Navy, and White/Silver. The womens light ups will be available in Gold, Silver, and Red. And where the original lights lasted a couple of years, technological advances have made it possible for the light ups to carry on for seven years, and that's with daily wear.
